BOAT RENTAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. GENERAL TERMS

  • Lessor: GetBoat.gr

  • Lessee: The individual renting the boat.

The lessee must:

  • Be at least 23 years of age, verified by a valid passport or official ID.

  • Be physically and mentally able to safely operate the boat.

  • Understand that the lessor reserves the right to refuse rental if the lessee is deemed unfit or unsafe to operate the vessel.


2. OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITY

  • Only the main lessee may operate the boat unless additional operators are expressly authorized in writing and sign the agreement.

  • The lessee is fully responsible for any damage or liability caused by unauthorized operators.

  • A speedboat license is not required for the type of vessel rented, unless otherwise specified by law.


3. RESERVATION & PAYMENT

  • Bookings must be made at least 1–2 days in advance via phone, email, or the website (www.getboat.gr).

  • A 50% deposit is required to confirm the reservation if made through phone.

  • The remaining 50% balance is due at the time of pick-up for phone reservations.

  • A security deposit (amount determined by the lessor) may be required and will be refunded upon safe return of the boat in its original condition.

Rental price includes:

  • Third-party liability insurance

  • Rescue and firefighting equipment (as required by Greek law)

  • Anchor, awning, and sound system

Fuel is not included in the rental price.


4. PICK-UP & RETURN

  • The boat will be delivered clean, fully operational, and seaworthy.

  • The lessee is liable for any material damage, missing equipment, or excessive cleaning costs.

  • The lessee must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the agreed pick-up time.

  • All passengers must present a valid ID, passport, or driving licence.

  • The boat is delivered with a full fuel tank; fuel consumption will be measured upon return and charged accordingly.

  • The boat must be returned on time, clean, and in the same condition as received. Late returns may incur additional charges.


5. LEGISLATION & SAFETY

  • The lessee and all passengers must comply with Hellenic Coast Guard regulations at all times.

  • Alcohol or drug consumption by the operator is strictly prohibited.

  • If the lessee is intoxicated at pick-up, the rental will be canceled, and the deposit forfeited.

  • The vessel must remain within designated areas as shown on maps provided by the lessor.

  • A working mobile phone must be kept on board for emergencies.


6. OPERATIONAL RULES

  • Maintain at least 200 meters distance from shore, swimmers, and buoys when at high speed.

  • The vessel must not travel more than 3 nautical miles from the coast.

  • The operator is responsible for monitoring weather, currents, and seabed conditions.

Beach Landing Procedures:

  • Reduce speed to 5 knots within 50 meters of shore.

  • Stop the engine at least 20 meters before shore.

  • Use an anchor for beach landings (dragging the boat is prohibited).

  • The operator must be the last to leave the boat after securing it.


7. PASSENGER GUIDELINES

  • Do not exceed the vessel’s maximum capacity.

  • Passengers must be evenly distributed for stability.

  • Life jackets must be worn at all times while underway.

  • Minors must be accompanied by an adult guardian.


8. INSURANCE & LIABILITY

  • All boats are covered by third-party liability insurance.

  • Additional comprehensive insurance may be arranged at extra cost.

  • The lessee is fully responsible for any damage, accident, or injury resulting from negligence, reckless behavior, or breach of these terms.

  • In the event of an accident, the lessee must immediately notify the lessor and the Hellenic Coast Guard.


9. PET POLICY

  • Pets are allowed upon request.

  • The lessee is responsible for cleaning and any damage caused by pets. A cleaning fee may apply.


10. CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Free rescheduling if canceled at least 5 days in advance.

  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours before departure result in full loss of payment.

  • If weather conditions make sailing unsafe, the rental may be rescheduled or refunded.


11. PROHIBITED USE

The vessel may not be used for:

  • Racing, competitive events, or training.

  • Any illegal purpose.

  • Transporting hazardous materials.

  • Towing other watercraft, tubes, or skis (unless expressly authorized).

  • Operation after dusk or during the night.

  • Exceeding passenger capacity.

  • Reckless or negligent behavior.

  • Operation under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication.

  • Any activity likely to cause damage to the engine, hull, or equipment.

  • Travel outside the designated operational area.


12. LEGAL AGREEMENT

  • Subleasing or transferring the vessel to any other natural or legal person is strictly prohibited. The lessee’s rights under this agreement are non-transferable.

  • The rental and departure of the vessel are permitted only when, at the point of delivery, wind conditions do not exceed the allowable limits and authorization is granted by the Port Authorities. In the event of adverse weather conditions that prohibit departure on the starting date of the rental, the security deposit will be refunded, and the rental may be rescheduled for another date if the lessee so wishes.

  • This agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties with respect to the subject matter contained herein and supersedes all prior agreements, whether oral or written, concerning the same subject matter.

  • This agreement is binding upon and shall inure to the benefit of the heirs, successors, and representatives of the parties.

  • Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Kavala, Greece.

  • By signing the rental agreement, the lessee acknowledges full understanding and acceptance of these terms.

PRIVATE CRUISE TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. GENERAL TERMS

  • Lessor / Operator: GetBoat.gr

  • Lessee / Client: The individual or group booking the private cruise.

  • The vessel is chartered with a professional skipper (captain) provided by the lessor.

  • Fuel, skipper’s fee, and standard equipment are included in the rental price.


2. RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CAPTAIN

  • The captain is solely responsible for the safe navigation, operation, and mooring of the vessel.

  • The captain has full authority over route adjustments, cruising speed, and itinerary modifications if required for safety, weather conditions, or compliance with port regulations.

  • The captain is responsible for ensuring that all safety equipment is on board and operational.

  • The captain may refuse sailing or cut short a cruise if passengers engage in unsafe, illegal, or reckless behavior.

  • The captain is not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings of passengers.


3. RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CLIENT

  • The client and passengers must comply with all instructions given by the captain regarding safety and conduct.

  • The client is responsible for any damage to the vessel caused intentionally or through reckless passenger behavior.

  • Passengers must not interfere with the operation of the vessel or equipment.

  • Alcohol is permitted in moderation, but drunken or disruptive behavior may result in termination of the cruise without refund.

  • Illegal substances are strictly prohibited.


4. RESERVATION & PAYMENT

  • Bookings must be made via phone, email, or the website (www.getboat.gr).

  • A 50% deposit is required to confirm the reservation from phone.

  • The remaining 50% balance must be paid no later than at boarding for phone reservations.

  • A booking is considered confirmed only after receipt of the deposit.


5. CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Cancellations made 14 days or more before the cruise date: Full refund of deposit.

  • Cancellations made between 7–13 days before the cruise: 50% of the total booking fee is retained.

  • Cancellations made less than 7 days before the cruise or in case of no-show: 100% of the total booking fee is retained.

  • If the cruise cannot take place due to adverse weather conditions or restrictions imposed by the Port Authorities, the client may:

    • Reschedule for another available date, or

    • Receive a full refund of the deposit.

  • If the cruise is terminated early due to passenger misconduct, no refund will be provided.


6. PICK-UP & RETURN

  • The cruise will depart and return from the designated port at the agreed times.

  • Delays caused by the client or passengers will not extend the scheduled return time.

  • All passengers must present a valid passport, ID, or driving licence before boarding.


7. INSURANCE & LIABILITY

  • The vessel and passengers are covered by third-party liability insurance as required by Greek law.

  • The captain and lessor bear responsibility for the seaworthiness and safe operation of the vessel.

  • The client is responsible for damages caused by reckless behavior, negligence, or violation of terms.

  • Neither the lessor nor the captain shall be held liable for loss of personal property, delays due to port authority restrictions, or itinerary changes caused by weather conditions.


8. PROHIBITED USE & BEHAVIOR

  • The vessel must not be used for:

    • Illegal activities

    • Transport of hazardous materials

    • Passenger capacity exceeding the permitted limit

    • Behavior that endangers safety or the vessel

  • Swimming stops and activities are permitted only at the captain’s discretion.


9. LEGAL AGREEMENT

  • Subleasing or transferring the booking to third parties is strictly prohibited.

  • This agreement constitutes the entire contract between the parties and supersedes all prior agreements, oral or written.

  • This agreement is binding upon and shall inure to the benefit of the heirs, successors, and representatives of the parties.

  • Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Kavala, Greece.

  • By signing the booking confirmation, the client acknowledges full understanding and acceptance of these terms.
